Launch of the Week
Meilisearch, a search API, released version 1.45 with faster indexing for settings changes, improved document fetching and better batching of additions with filtered deletions. These changes could help teams evaluating Algolia keep catalogs responsive, although the release still recommends deletion by document ID instead of interleaving filtered deletions and additions.
Company Launch
Lamina Labs, an explainer-video API startup, publicly introduced Simi on May 26 following earlier demos and SDK access, turning prompts into whiteboard-style teaching videos. Its API lets product teams generate visual explanations inside their own applications, offering an alternative to Golpo.
Enterprise Watch
WorkOS, an enterprise authentication platform, added dashboard creation of staging and production environments, along with renaming. Self-service environment management could reduce setup friction for teams evaluating Auth0, but teams still need to maintain consistent configuration across their environments.
GTM Trends
Liveblocks, a provider of real-time collaboration APIs, published new guides and demonstrations for AI presence, agents in React Flow and agent notifications. Showing concrete product interactions could help developers evaluate its approach against Ably, although examples do not establish production reliability or replace application-specific integration work.
More Devtool News
- ✨ Paddle, a merchant of record and subscription billing provider, expanded payout reconciliation reports with discount details and explicit rebate and SWIFT-fee rows. Exposing every payout movement reduces accounting guesswork, but importers need to accommodate the added rows; compare Stripe.
- ✨ Clerk, an authentication and user management platform, added a largest-organizations report ranking tenants by current membership. It gives teams an immediate view of account size, although member counts alone do not measure engagement or revenue; compare WorkOS.
- ✨ Sanity, a headless CMS, added a feedback tool to its MCP server so developers can report errors and missing capabilities from their client. Shortening the feedback path could make agent integrations easier to improve, but submitting a report does not itself resolve the issue; Contentful is an alternative.
