Launch of the Week
Knock, a notification API, launched Partials 2.0 with reusable brand variables, versioned input schemas and controls that can limit editors to approved email components. Against Novu and Courier, this could make brand governance a reason to buy the notification layer, rather than another internal tool to build.
Company Launch
Orthogonal, an API payments platform, launched with one credit balance and SDK or MCP access to paid APIs, while providers can charge per request. Its combined discovery and payment layer targets friction that teams otherwise handle through an API marketplace such as RapidAPI and separate billing infrastructure such as Stripe.
Enterprise Watch
WorkOS, an enterprise authentication platform, extended JWT Templates to Connect's MCP and OAuth applications, allowing tokens to carry user and organization context. That could reduce custom integration work for multi-tenant apps evaluating it against Auth0, although developers still need to decide which claims each application should receive.
GTM Trends
Clerk, an authentication and user management platform, added custom subscription plans and prices through its dashboard and Backend API, including scheduled transitions between paid plans. This could let teams handle negotiated offers without immediately adding a separate subscription system such as Stripe Billing, but paid-to-paid changes take effect after the existing billing period.
More Devtool News
- ✨ Clerk, an authentication and user management platform, launched installable Agent Skills for auth integration, custom sign-in flows and related development tasks. The package puts implementation guidance inside the coding agent's workflow. This could improve discovery among developers building by prompt, though instructions still need engineering review. Clerk competes with WorkOS.
- ✨ Sanity, a headless CMS, launched Agent Skills covering schema design, queries, SEO and experimentation. Portable rules bring its implementation practices into compatible coding agents. This could help Sanity influence architecture before a developer opens its dashboard, but generated code still needs validation. Sanity competes with Contentful and Strapi.
- ✨ Liveblocks, a provider of real-time collaboration APIs, launched revised quickstart flows organized around products and use cases, plus new notification guides. Developers can retrieve an API key directly from the dashboard quickstart. A clearer first run could shorten evaluation, although teams still own the notification experience they assemble. Liveblocks competes with Ably.
