Launch of the Week

Liveblocks, a provider of real-time collaboration APIs, open-sourced its multiplayer server core and local development server, covering Liveblocks Storage and Yjs synchronization. Source access could reduce evaluation friction against Ably or a team-operated Yjs stack, but this release does not yet provide production-ready self-hosting or the full comments and notifications platform.

Company Launch

Unifold, a crypto deposit API, launched with cross-chain routing, gas handling and settlement behind a headless integration or customizable interface. For apps evaluating Crossmint or MoonPay, its focus is the account-funding step where chain switching and token approvals can interrupt onboarding.

Sponge, an agent-wallet and payment-gateway startup, introduced its wallets and API payment gateway on YC, letting users fund agent purchases and businesses sell API access to them. Its combination of wallets and API onboarding gives teams evaluating Crossmint or Stripe another approach to transactions carried out by software agents.

Enterprise Watch

WorkOS, an enterprise authentication platform, launched fine-grained authorization with roles and permissions scoped to resources such as workspaces and projects. Keeping inherited access rules beside SSO and directory integrations could reduce the need for a separate authorization vendor such as Auth0 FGA or Oso, while making the initial resource model an important design decision.

GTM Trends

Knock, a notification API, released two open-source agent skills covering CLI operations and notification design, including channel-specific copywriting guidance. This could put Knock into the implementation conversation earlier than Novu or Courier when developers delegate messaging work to coding agents, although distribution alone does not prove adoption.

More Devtool News

  • ✨ Sanity, a headless CMS, made TypeGen generally available in Studio v5. It derives TypeScript types from schemas and queries, with automatic regeneration to keep them aligned during development. That could reduce mismatches between content and UI code, but teams moving from the beta should account for intentional breaking changes. Sanity competes with Contentful and Strapi.
  • ✨ Sanity, a headless CMS, added conditional schema choices for new references. A document-aware callback can restrict which related content types an editor can create. This could prevent confusing choices inside a complex editorial workflow, although developers still need to define those rules. Sanity competes with Contentful.
  • ✨ Liveblocks, a provider of real-time collaboration APIs, added per-room opt-in to its new storage engine. The release supports larger documents and protocol optimizations while keeping the previous engine as the default. Teams can evaluate the upgrade incrementally, but cannot change an existing room's engine after creation. Its synchronization layer competes with a team-operated Yjs stack and Ably.
