Launch of the Week
Clerk, an authentication and user management platform, released version 1 of its iOS and Android SDKs with a consistent auth entry point and a separation of core APIs from prebuilt views on iOS. A clearer native integration could improve its position against Auth0 and Firebase Authentication, although existing version 0 integrations need migration work.
Company Launch
Maven, a voice-agent payments API, launched with card collection, processing, and retry handling for payments made during live calls. For teams evaluating payment infrastructure such as Basis Theory, Maven focuses on completing a transaction inside the customer conversation instead of sending the caller to a separate checkout.
Enterprise Watch
WorkOS, an enterprise authentication platform, brought custom identity-provider attributes into AuthKit, accessible through JWT templates or the organization membership API. This could make customer-specific identity data easier to consume without a separate synchronization layer, a practical consideration for teams evaluating Auth0.
GTM Trends
Clerk, an authentication and user management platform, added export and sharing for dashboard analytics, including branded PNG charts with configurable date ranges. Giving teams portable evidence of product growth could extend Clerk's usefulness beyond engineering and support its positioning against WorkOS, though chart exports are not a substitute for deeper product analytics.
More Devtool News
- ✨ Knock, a notification API, launched Sources 2.0. The redesigned setup combines event-based field mapping, logs and inline validation to connect external events to messaging workflows. This could make integrations easier to debug, but teams still need to define reliable event semantics. Knock competes with Novu and Courier.
- ✨ Mux, a video API platform, added an API for updating existing track details. Developers can revise language, name, passthrough and closed-caption metadata. This could reduce the friction of correcting a video library, but metadata updates do not fix an inaccurate caption transcript. Mux competes with Cloudinary.
- ✨ WorkOS, an enterprise authentication platform, updated its SSO session lifecycle with an explicit timeout state and start/timeout events. Unfinished SSO sessions expire after five minutes, with a clearer monitoring view. Better visibility could ease enterprise support, but teams should account for that timeout in their login experience. WorkOS competes with Clerk and Auth0.
