Coverage: April 13–19, 2026.
Launch of the Week
Mux, a video API platform, launched Mux Robots in technical preview, hosting workflows for summaries, moderation, caption translation, chapters, key moments, and custom questions. Bringing those jobs alongside video storage could reduce orchestration work for customers comparing Cloudinary, though the preview's APIs and outputs still need evaluation.
Company Launch
LithosAI, an agent infrastructure startup, launched the early preview of Motus for running agents in the cloud or on your own servers, with model orchestration and learning from production runs. For teams considering LangSmith Deployment, Motus offers an open-source approach to improving model selection, memory, and latency as agents handle real workloads.
Enterprise Watch
Clerk, an authentication and user management platform, made Directory Sync generally available and included it in enterprise connections, while introducing custom attribute and group-to-role mapping in public beta. Bundled provisioning strengthens Clerk's enterprise proposition against WorkOS, but buyers should distinguish the mature core capability from the beta mapping features.
GTM Trends
Clerk, an authentication and user management platform, added annual-only subscription plans, letting products require a yearly commitment instead of offering monthly renewal. That gives SaaS teams another packaging option when comparing Stripe Billing, with the commercial tradeoff of larger upfront commitments potentially narrowing the customer funnel.
More Devtool News
- ✨ Knock, a notification API, launched a guides toolbar that previews in-app messages inside the real product and exposes targeting conditions. The practical innovation is seeing why a guide appears in context, although teams must still test different pages and user segments; Courier is a messaging alternative.
- ✨ Liveblocks, a provider of real-time collaboration APIs, added an experimental history-control API that keeps selected background mutations off undo and redo stacks. This lets applications separate asynchronous writes from users' editing history, but developers need to choose carefully which changes become non-undoable; Ably offers alternative realtime infrastructure.
- ✨ Clerk, an authentication and user management platform, added a test-user filter to Overview analytics, separating accounts that use its documented test identifiers from charts and metrics. It could make adoption reporting more useful, but cannot automatically identify every internally created test account; Auth0 is an alternative.
