Coverage: June 29–July 5, 2026.

Launch of the Week

WorkOS, an enterprise authentication platform, introduced its API Gateway in early access, exchanging API keys for identity-bearing JWTs at the edge so backends can reuse their authentication pattern. This could reduce integration work for products serving both people and API clients, adding an adoption argument against identity alternatives such as Clerk and Auth0.

Company Launch

Predio, a property data API, introduced a paid JSON interface to Spain’s public cadastral data, with lookups by property reference, coordinates or address. Its REST API and MCP server give developers considering CatastroAPI another way to add property data to their applications, with typed errors and cached responses when the upstream service is unavailable.

Enterprise Watch

WorkOS, an enterprise authentication platform, added step-up authentication so applications can require fresh verification before sensitive actions while preserving the existing session. The feature could help developers meet enterprise security expectations, but they must choose where to require it when comparing implementation effort with Auth0.

GTM Trends

Clerk, an authentication and user management platform, introduced account credits that automatically offset future charges and carry unused balances forward. Credits give teams another way to offer service adjustments or promotions without changing subscriptions, broadening its billing proposition alongside Stripe Billing.

More Devtool News

  • ✨ Knock, a notification API, added dashboard multi-factor authentication, with TOTP enrollment and optional account-wide enforcement. This strengthens human access controls but does not protect API keys, a useful distinction when evaluating notification platforms such as Novu and Courier.
  • ✨ Mux, a video API platform, announced six more Robots workflows, spanning caption editing, premium captions, dubbing, thumbnails, engagement insights, and scene detection. Several were experimental and four initially required requested access, so teams comparing Cloudinary should budget for evaluation rather than assume production stability.
  • ✨ Knock, a notification API, added sandbox execution and delay skipping to its workflow test runner. Developers can inspect messages without sending them and test long workflows faster, although this does not validate downstream delivery—a testing boundary to examine alongside Novu.
