Coverage: July 20–26, 2026.
Launch of the Week
Liveblocks, a provider of real-time collaboration APIs, introduced LiveFile, a Storage data structure for files with upload methods and download URL access. Integrating files with shared application state could reduce separate attachment plumbing for canvas and document products, giving teams comparing Ably another integration cost to consider.
Company Launch
SkyPilot, an AI compute orchestration startup, emerged from stealth with $20 million in seed funding and introduced a managed platform built on its open-source project. Its launch includes agent sandboxes and production model serving across customers’ own compute, giving teams considering Anyscale another way to run AI features across cloud providers.
Enterprise Watch
WorkOS, an enterprise authentication platform, added two dashboard roles: Sandbox Developers with read-only production access and Support Viewers with read-only access across environments. More precise operational permissions could help enterprises grant visibility without unnecessary write access, a practical control to assess alongside Clerk.
GTM Trends
Clerk, an authentication and user management platform, added one-command MCP registration for ten AI clients, together with a built-in connection bridge and handshake checks. Making its SDK guidance easier to reach inside coding tools could influence early vendor selection against WorkOS, although installation is user-wide rather than limited to one project.
More Devtool News
- ✨ Knock, a notification API, made its redesigned template editor generally available, combining movable blocks, inline variables, Liquid logic, and previews. Easier editing can broaden who maintains messages, but dynamic branches still need testing with realistic data; Novu is an alternative.
- ✨ Clerk, an authentication and user management platform, added configurable default OAuth scopes for dynamic client registration. Defaults can address missing-scope interoperability problems for MCP clients, but they do not override explicit scope requests and should remain deliberate; compare WorkOS.
- ✨ Sanity, a headless CMS, added opt-in table editing to Portable Text, with row and column controls and structured cell content. Editors gain richer layouts inside content fields, while developers still need to enable the plugin and declare its schema; Contentful is a competing content platform.
